The Second Annual John Kiesewetter Faultline Rumble wrestling tournament was held Saturday at San Benito High School.

More than 300 kids competed in the tournament, and there were eight local grapplers who received medals.

Kenny Salcedo won the 70-pound 11-12 Novice title over fellow Razorback wrestler Junior Davila.

Davila has won two of the three meetings between the two wrestlers, including a 47-second touch fall earlier in the season.

“They will push each other well for the state meet to try to improve,” said Razorback coach David Salcedo, Kenny’s uncle.

In the 75-pound Midget weight class for ages 9-10, Mike Soto defeated teammate Justin Raine for the title.

Rob Rodriquez took first in the 60-pound Midget Division. Morris Stevens lost 7-5 against a wrestler from San Jose to finish second in his Novice Division.

Other second-place finishers included Anthony Flores (15-16 Cadet) and Zach Rodriguez (11-12 80 pounds Novice).

The tournament was named for Kiesewetter, who coached wrestling for more than three decades and founded Razorback Wrestling in 1980.
