Resident of Gilroy, Arleen was born in San Jose to Francis W. and June Sadler. She was raised in Los Gatos. She met her husband of 52 years, James Freeze at the San Jose State Carnegie Student Union.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Karen Lynn Gill, James F. Freeze and John M. Freeze, son-in-law, Kevin D. Gill, and grandson James M. Haynes-Gill. While she and Jim raised their family, he had a 33 year career on the Morgan Hill Police Dept. She was a receptionist at the William F. James Boys Ranch, a Pink Lady at Santa Teresa Hospital, Managed the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, organized the first girls soft ball league in Morgan Hill, served on the Morgan Hill Parks and Recreation Commission, was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, operated a Motel, and wrote a cook book. She also was a founding member and Board of Directors Secretary of the Media Access Coalition of Central Calif. the nonprofit co! rporation that operates MHAT, Morgan Hill’s public access television station. She loved to garden, paint with oil paints, cook and be a mother, grandmother and wife.
A private service will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, between 2:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. followed by a public viewing opportunity from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
