The motorcyclist in Sunday’s accident at Fairview and Churchill roads died from his injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner confirmed his identity as 31-year-old Brandon Brundage of Hollister.

At about 11:25 a.m. Sunday, a 2008 Nissan Sentra driven by a 29-year-old woman from Hollister was northbound and attempted a left turn onto Churchill Road while activating the car’s left-turn signal. Brundage was northbound on Fairview Road on a 2011 SPCN motorcycle and, according to the California Highway Patrol, was riding at an unsafe speed for traffic conditions.

Brundage rode “out of control” into the intersection, and the bike was “laid onto its left side” as it collided with the left side of the car, according to the CHP.

Responders treated him at the scene. He was airlifted to Regional Medical Center of San Jose, where he died.

The driver and passengers in the car were uninjured, according to the CHP. The two passengers in the car were a 64-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, both from Hollister.
