John peacefully passed at home at age 50 after three and a half years of battling cancer.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 22 years, Dana and their devoted sons Thomas and Brandon and his thoughtful parents John and Eileen Dawson.

John graduated from DeAnza College in 1983 with an AA in Automotive Technology. He had a passion for racing and he drove his racecar on many well-known tracks. This led him to become an EMT and a volunteer firefighter. He also volunteered at Challenger Little League, his sons’ sports teams and the SBHS auto shop, just to name a few.

 Many will miss him.

Memorial service 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 9th, 2012, at South Valley Community Church, Gilroy.
