James Leon Porter, known to everyone as “Jim” passed away June 29 at the age of 58 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho of heart failure.

 Jim was born in San Diego, CA on September 12, 1953, to Lloyd and Betty Porter. His family moved to San Jose, CA shortly after birth where he lived until he was married.

 In 1974 he married his wife Barbara and moved to Gilroy, CA. Later on residing in Hollister, CA before moving to Spirit Lake, ID in 2005. He was self-employed working with JP Tech. Jim loved hunting, fishing, and boating. He was an ECV Mountain Charlie Chapter #1850 member since 1984. He was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

 Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara, his two sons, Travis (Jenna) and Trevor (Theresa), five grandchildren, of Hollister, CA; parents, Lloyd and Betty Porter of Gilroy, CA, father and mother-in-law Jerry and Lucille Moreland of Millbrae, CA; siblings, Lloyd Jr. of Boise, Idaho, Deborah of Walnut Creek, CA, Mark of Gilroy, CA; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 Jim was a friend to many wherever he went. Inurnment in Hollister, CA.
