Aided by Emiley Palmquist’s low score of 40, the San Benito girls golf team improved to 2-3, beating Gilroy 273-342 at San Juan Oaks Golf Club on Monday.
Palmquist and teammate Lexi Branon (50) carded the two lows to lead San Benito to the easy victory. Gilroy’s Cierra Montoya Valdez carded a 54 to lead Gilroy.
Bianca Jaquez’s 57, Beverley Witty’s 59, Amy Carvahlo’s 67 and Jamie Kelly’s 73 rounded out the scoring for the Balers.
San Benito returns to the golf course at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday against Watsonville at the Pajaro Valley Golf Course.
