Despite a 5-5 record, the San Benito football team will return to postseason play next week.

The Balers were selected as the No. 6 seed inside the Central Coast Section Division I playoffs. They will travel to face former league opponent No. 3 Alisal at 7 p.m. Friday in Salinas.

The Trojans finished its first season in the Pacific Division of the Monterey Bay League with an 8-2 record and a second place finish behind Seaside.

The rest of the Division I playoffs are as follows:

No. 6 San Benito (5-5) at No. 3 Alisal (8-2)

No. 7 Fremont (8-2) at No. 2 Salinas (6-4)

No. 5 Sequoia (8-2) at No. 4 Menlo-Atherton (6-4)

No. 8 Silver Creek (5-5) at No. 1 Milpitas (7-3)
