Isaac Regalado is one of the athletes to watch out for in Friday's MBL Track and Field Championships at Gilroy High.

On Tuesday, the San Benito High track and field team qualified a sizable contingent of their athletes to the Monterey Bay League Championships. The top nine finishers in each event qualify for Friday’s Championships at Gilroy High. On the girls side, some of the key highlights include junior Marisa Villegas winning the 800-meter run and 1600 in 2:20.73 and 5:16.28, respectively.
Annie Breger won the triple jump with a mark of 36 feet, 6 inches, and teammate Camille Finley took second with a 34-03.5. Breger also took third in the long jump and was one of nine girls who hit the 4 foot qualifying mark in the high jump. Finley and Bernadette Forbush also advanced to the high jump finals.
Forbush took fourth in the 100 hurdles in 17.75 and sixth in the 300 hurdles in 53.80. Kaylie Voechting finished second in the 100-meter dash in 12.97, and fourth in the 200 in 27.65. Shannon Skowbo placed third in the 300 hurdles in 51.32, and Dakota Peebles fourth in 52.95. On the boys side, Isaac Regalado and Anthony Delgado went 1-2 in the 110 hurdles in 15.73 and 15.74, respectively.
Delgado also took third in the 300 hurdles in 42.20. Juan Gutierrez and Elijah Changco went 1-2 in the 1600 in 4:28.68 and 4:29.21. Gutierrez also finished fourth in the 800 in 2:06.72. William Castellanos finished second in the 200 in 23.40 and third in the 400 in 52.53.
Nolan Sanchez had a pretty nice day, producing a couple of second-place finishes in the 400 and 800 in 51.82 and 2:05.02, respectively. Wade Pauley, Michael Sainz and Regalado all qualified in the high jump with a mark of 5-4. Peter Reikowski qualified in the pole vault with a mark of 11-6.
Kenton Kpeglo won the triple jump with a mark of 41-10, and took second in the long jump in 20-11. Regalado went third in the long jump in 20-04 and fourth in the triple jump in 40-08.
