State board to decide fate of Bolado course lease
The Bolado Park Golf Course closed for three days last week
before re-opening Monday after the financially troubled club
received a loan expected to keep it open until a state board makes
a decision on whether to alter the $25,000 annual, five-year
lease.
The course, which opened in 1946 and is the oldest in the
county, has faced declining revenues and membership for about a
decade.

Club officials last week made a decision to close but it re-opened three days later after the course received the loan.
On Jan. 11, the 33rd Agricultural District board, which owns the Bolado Park property as part of a deed donated to keep its use as recreational, will decide on the lease.
