The assemblyman who represents San Benito County has been tabbed for several state committees, his office announced Tuesday.

Assembly Luis Alejo, D-Watsonville, represents the 28th Assembly District. The speaker appointed him to seven select committees for the 2011-12 legislative session to cover immediate issues.

He has been chosen for the following committees:

Committee on High Technology; Committee on Sustainable and Organic Agriculture; Committee on Regional Approaches to Addressing the State’s Water Crisis; Committee on High-Speed Rail for California; Committee on Delinquency Prevention and Youth Development; Committee on State Hospital Safety; Committee on California-Mexico Bi-national Affairs
