The Balers are now 8-6 overall.

The most impressive run was within the doubles division, which saw all three San Benito doubles pairings not only win in straight sets, but also in straight games.

Balers Kyle Skinner and Eric Johnson defeated Jeffrey Kuneng and Austin Goris 6-0, 6-0; Brian Becerra and Sunny Singh silenced Nate Norman and Trent Goris 6-0, 6-0; and San Benito’s Jacob and Andrew Panger beat Jesus Munoz and Eric Leong 6-0, 6-0.

Meanwhile, although the singles division wasn’t as convincing, it still fared in San Benito’s favor.

Top player Jacob Garcia defeated Vesna Kahay 6-1, 6-1, while No. 2 Geoff Muzik dispatched Kyle Kwong 6-2, 7-5.

Christopher picked up its one and only win at No. 3 singles, although San Benito nearly pulled it out, as Cougar Jeff King edged Nick Trillo 5-7, 7-5 and 10-5 in the third-set tiebreaker.

The Balers’ No. 4 singles player, however, Alex Reilly, rounded out the singles category with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Ryan Cocicrust.

San Benito will host Monte Vista Christian Friday at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club. Match time is 3:30 p.m.

The match was originally scheduled to be held next Tuesday, but coaches opted to move up the meeting to today, Friday, as the Balers will be on spring break next week.
