Annual Street Festival and Car Show takes over downtown
The 25th Annual Street Festival and Car Show is July 16, from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m., in downtown Hollister.
The milestone event will includes threestages of entertainment,
displays of classic cars, pedal cars, specialty vehicles and new
cars, as well as a vendor row.
Annual Street Festival and Car Show takes over downtown
The 25th Annual Street Festival and Car Show is July 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in downtown Hollister.
The milestone event will includes threestages of entertainment, displays of classic cars, pedal cars, specialty vehicles and new cars, as well as a vendor row.
Admission to the annual event is free and residents can even get a free slice of watermelon, donated by Swank Farms.
There will be a variety of free demonstrations by downtown businesses during the event. Some of those include covering your own vanity chair by Rowe Upholstery and learning how to assemble an automotive headline on a classic car. First signs will show how to do a vehicle wrap of a pedal car. San Benito Bene will do demonostrations of mineral makeup. Top Stitch will have upholstery demos and DeLuX Hair Salon will prepare models for a professional photo shoot.
Other downtown locations will have sidewalk sales or specials, such as Drapoel/Teezers, Muenzer’s Cyclery, Knife and Fork Cage, Heavenly Bakery, She’s Apparel & Shoes and Running Rooster. Blak Sage Gallery will also be open with an art display “Alchemy & Isocyanates.”
Raffle tickets will be sold at the event, $5 for six or $1 each, at the information booth. Some of the prizes included a gear wrench set from Hollister Auto Parts, a gift certificate from The Bounce Company, Dassel’s fuel card, Russo & Steele gift packs and more. The United Way of San Benito County will also be sponsoring a Poker Walk. Tickets will be sold at a booth on the corner of Sixth and San Benito streets for $5 each.
In addition to the downtown businesses that will be open for lunch, there will be some food booths available on Seventh Street, including SBC Lulac selling tacos, bottled water and soda, Hollister Pop Warner and Cheer selling grilled hotdogs and sausages, and a few more.
A kid’s zone will have face painting, a bounce house, BCT Crafts and Hobbies as well as free kids activities put on by the Girl Scouts of CA-Central Coast and Hollister Youth Alliance.
