Ronald Steven Nelson was born September 3rd, 1951 to Walter and Lilah Nelson. He will be missed dearly by his parents, Walter and Lilah; his wife of 36 years, Debbie; his two daughters Britni Brindle, and Megan Nelson; his brother, Scott Nelson, his wife Chris and their children, Angelica, Jason and David; and numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends.He is also survived by his favorite cutting horse “Miss Geevus Doc”.

Ron lead a full life, he worked as a mechanic at Gilroy, Pontiac, Buick, GMC. He and his wife raised two beautiful children and spent his spare time volunteering as a 4-H leader, a member of the American Quarter Horse Breeders of Santa Clara Valley, since 1981, a member of AQHA, NRHA, a founding member of the Gavilan Cutting Club, and other quarter horse clubs throughout California.

He loved showing his quarter horses in halter and cutting, and qualified for the AQHA World Show multiple times. Ron and his wife continued to breed quarter horses long after he could no longer ride, and continued taking their daughters to horse shows so that they could compete with their own horses.

Ron was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in 1998, survived and enjoyed a wonderful and loving life for 13 years.

His viewing will be held on 9/23/2011 at: Public Viewing; 4:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. / Family Viewing; 3:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M.

The service and funeral will be on 9/24/2011 at: 1:00 P.M.
