Zachary Silverthorn Jensen December 27, 1987 – February 12, 2015

 We will pray the Rosary for Zachary at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy, on Friday, February 20, 2015, at 7:00 P.M.  Zachary was born in Tokyo, Japan, and spent his first 2-1/2 years enjoying the country where his parents resided very happily for many years. Zachary moved to the island of Mindanao, in the Philippines, together with his parents. It was there that he welcomed into the world his brother David. Zachary enjoyed a blissful life in the Philippines.
 The family moved to Morgan Hill, CA in 1997. Zachary was one of the first students at Morgan Hill Country School, where he loved to learn under the tutelage of Ms. Katy Tamura.
 Three of Zachary’s high school years were spent studying at Bellarmine College Preparatory. For his final year of high school, Zachary did home schooling so that he could devote more time honing his amazing skills at the jazz guitar. His guitar expertise developed under the guidance of David Gregorio at Valley Christian, who guided Zachary into many of the young people’s honor jazz bands in the Bay Area.  
 Zachary studied jazz guitar at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. He taught guitar lessons in the Morgan Hill area for several years, and played many gigs throughout the Bay Area, as he figured out what the next step should be in his young life. Zachary was the lead guitarist in the first youth worship band at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church for eight years. Zachary also demonstrated an artistic talent through the many and varied drawings that he left us.
 Zachary pursued athletics with the passion that he did his music. Pony League Baseball, Pop Warner Football and Bellarmine Wrestling teams were blessed with his prowess. Those who sit in the south end zone at Stanford stadium will miss Zachary’s loud support of his favorite team. We’ll hold a seat for Zachary there this season.
 Zachary struggled with Borderline Personality Disorder for many years. This disease caused Zachary to leave this life under tragic circumstances near Morgan Hill on February 12, 2015.
 Zachary is survived by his parents, Peter and Diane Jensen of Morgan Hill, and his brother, David of Salt Lake City. Zachary has many aunts, uncles and cousins who are missing him very much.
