Clyde has been laid to rest at Los Gatos Memorial Cemetery. His family has honored his request that no funeral services be held. Stemel, Clyde Joseph Sr., Hollister (formerly of Los Gatos).
 Clyde passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends early Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, at the age of 95. A California native, Clyde was born on October 10, 1919, to Joseph and Rose Stemel.
 Survived by his devoted and loving wife of 70 years, Doriene; children, Clyde Stemel, Jr. (Denise); Cynthia Cummins (Michael); and granddaughter Stephanie Cummins.
 Predeceased by his eldest daughter, Patricia Campbell (November 18, 2014). Also survived by sisters, Loretta Beatty and Olivia Kunkel. Predeceased by sister, Florence and brother, Wilbur Stemel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
 Clyde proudly served our country in World War II as a member of the United States Army.
 After his military service, he spent his career as a letter carrier for over 30 years in San Jose, until his retirement in 1976.
 He and Doriene moved to Hollister in 1989, where he continued to be an avid golfer, gardener, hobby woodworker, and huge sports fan. He was a member of the Bolado Golf Course Men’s Club for many years and was also a member of the Hollister SIRS organization.
 Always putting his family first, Clyde will be dearly missed by all and remembered fondly for his kindness, sound advice, sense of humor, and for always reminding us, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
