Willful harm to a child, no location reported
Sheriff’s deputies making a parole check on an individual Wednesday found a “disaster,” according to Lt. Roy Iler.
“It was a dirty house, dirty dishes, no central heating, part of the carpet gone exposing the sub floor,” explained Iler, who said that marijuana, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were also found, prompting the deputies to call San Benito County Child Protective Services, which arrived and took a total of seven children, ages six months to 12 years, into custody.
Deputies arrested four Hollister residents – two females ages 23 and 38, and two males ages 31 and 27. The four were booked into the county jail pending charges of child endangerment, parole violations, possession of controlled substances and willful harm to a child.
Warrants, San Juan Road
Deputies making a traffic stop Friday on San Juan Road, ran a suspect’s name and learned that he had four warrants for his arrest from Merced County, one from Santa Clara County and one from San Benito County. The suspect was arrested and booked into the county jail.
CRIMINAL REPORTS
Attempted theft, Third Street
An unknown suspect entered a business in San Juan Bautista on the 300 block of Third Street at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday and attempted to steal a dress, the sheriff’s office reported. The suspect fled before deputies arrived and is still at large.
Annoying calls, Calle San Antonio
Sheriff’s deputies took a report Sunday from a victim on the 600 block of Calle San Antonio in San Juan Bautista who received approximately 25 unanswered calls to her home as well as two messages from an unknown suspect. The calls were made from an unknown number and the victim could not identify the voice from the two messages.
