Traffic on eastbound Highway 152 near the Santa Clara/Merced County line has been reduced to one lane since a rock slide occurred at about 12:30 p.m. today, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
The rock slide occurred at Highway 152 near the El Toro Ranch, about 2.7 miles west of the Merced County line. Authorities closed a lane to allow easier removal of the rocks in the road, said CHP officer Erica Elias, a spokeswoman with the Gilroy-Hollister CHP office.
The work had not caused any traffic backups, while the CHP had expected intermittent lane closures through about 3:30 p.m., Elias said.
