The Silicon Valley Mustangs 13-and-under baseball team won the USSSA Spring-N-Fling tournament at the Fremont Sports Complex on March 7-8 when they trumped the Santa Clara Stealth 12-4 in the championship final.

It was the second time in the tournament the Mustangs had upended the Stealth, a team that had owned a 23-5 record going into the weekend.

It was the first tournament of the spring season for the Mustangs, which are made up of players from Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Hollister.

Playing in five games over a two-day period, the Mustangs outscored their opponents by a 37-19 margin.

Ten of the Mustangs’ players were part of the squad to play at the Cooperstown Field of Dreams Park in New York this past summer, where the team finished 13th out of 98 teams after a weeks worth of games.
