A trial date has been set for the man suspected of killing a 20-year-old Hollister woman and leaving her body on C Street.

Travis J. Hoffmeister, 25, is scheduled to be in court for the trial that begins at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 30. The trial is estimated to last 10 days.

Hoffmeister is suspected of killing Christella Macias in June 2007 and leaving her body near the end of C Street, where it was found by a resident in the area covered by only a shirt and a bag over her head.

An autopsy the week after she was killed showed Macias died from blunt force trauma.

The case had no suspect until authorities in March 2008 used state-analyzed forensic evidence to allegedly tie Hoffmeister to the crime.

A trial confirmation hearing also was scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 19 at the San Benito County courthouse.

Hoffmeister if convicted faces a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
