Supervisor Don Marcus announced today that he will not be running for reelection.
Marcus, along with Supervisors Anthony Botelho and Jaime De La Cruz, is up for reelection on June 3. A local builder and rancher, he took office at the beginning of 2005.
Marcus announced his retirement at today’s board meeting as he stepped down as board chairman, a position he has occupied for the past year. If he does not run again, Marcus is scheduled to leave office at the end of 2008.
In addition to his political achievements, Marcus was recently voted San Benito County’s sexiest politician by the readers of the Weekend Pinnacle.*
