Lo placed on administrative leave
Public Works Director Jerry Lo has been terminated from county
service effective Dec. 4, 2008, according to a press release from
Susan Thompson, the San Benito County Administrative Officer. Lo
has been on administrative leave since September 15, and will
receive a six month severance payment in accordance with his
employment contract with the county.

Public Works Director Jerry Lo has been terminated from county service effective Dec. 4, 2008, according to a press release from Susan Thompson, the San Benito County Administrative Officer. Lo has been on administrative leave since September 15, and will receive a six month severance payment in accordance with his employment contract with the county.

Janelle Cox, a senior management analyst with the county administrative office will be appointed as acting public works administrator. Cox joined the county staff in February 2007, and has 30 years of administrative experience, including work with the City of San Jose. She has worked for eight years with capital projects, private construction contractors, and project planning and management.

“Ms. Cox will be a perfect fit given the existing circumstances in our Public Works Department,” Thompson wrote in a press release. “She brings strong management and organizational skills to the department as well as excellent communication skills. While Ms. Cox is not an engineer, the department has experienced professional staff that will be responsible for the technical demands of the department under her leadership.”
