I find it rather strange that it took over a week to print my
letter regarding the abolition of tax exempt status for the LDS
church, a week that featured only three letters in your editorial
section combined.
I find it equally interesting that the letter in rebuttal to my
own was published in the very next printing.
Odd why opposing letter published, too

Dear Editor,

I find it rather strange that it took over a week to print my letter regarding the abolition of tax exempt status for the LDS church, a week that featured only three letters in your editorial section combined.

I find it equally interesting that the letter in rebuttal to my own was published in the very next printing.

Am I to conclude that the right-wing bias if the Hollister Free Lance extends to its letters page as well? In regards to the rebuttal letter, allow me to thank the author for his or her red baiting little poem, a virtual trip down memory lane to the good old days of McCarthyism.

But I must point out that my letter dealt with the violation of the tax code by the LDS church and its need to have its tax exempt status revoked, not a challenge to the author regarding his paranoia of hair styles or his children’s ability to talk to the sky during school hours.

Gary Mueller, Hollister
