It’s official: school’s here
Summer is officially over for all South County students as all
schools are now back in session. Hollister schools and some King
City schools started back last week while Bitterwater Tully and
King City High School went back to school this week. Todd and I are
now officially parents of a high school student as Sierra Jo
started at King City High this week. I don’t know where the time
went, seems like yesterday she was just a baby.

Les and Betty Sans hosted a barbecue last Friday evening for Jerilynn Sans who was in town for her 10 year class reunion. Jerilynn graduated from King City High in 1997 before heading to Texas to attend Texas A& M. After graduating from there, she now lives and works in Albuquerque, N.M. Besides our family, also enjoying the evening was Gregg, Sami Jo, Rory and Jo Ellen Johnsen.
The King City Riding Club hosted it’s final gymkhana and year-end barbecue last Sunday at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. Some of those participating included: the Sans family, the Stoughton family, the Johnson families, the Rianda family, the Brouhard family, Clay Barbree, the Bennett family and many others. The kids were each awarded with very nice awards for their year end achievements. The club will start their new year next February.
Kanani Barbree hosted a spa party last Saturday evening for herself and a few friends. The girls spent the day swimming, sunning, getting massages, facials and then were treated to an elegant dinner. Some of those attending included: Cynnie O’Connor, Lucy Flores, Wendy Rianda, Kasey Hurley, Shay Bennett and Nancy Kelly. All the girls had a great time and have decided it should become an annual event.
