A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Dick’s, Golf Training Center, 1805 Cienega Road, Hollister, CA 95023.
 Richard “Dick” Frederick Rautmann, 79, of Hollister, CA passed away October 4, 2015, at his home, after a 10 year battle with cancer.
 Dick was born March 16, 1936, in San Francisco, CA to Fred and Anne (Link) Rautmann.
 Dick graduated form San Mateo High School in 1954 and served in the United States Army with Honorable Discharge, from 1956 to 1958.
 In 2012, Dick was inducted into the San Mateo High School Hall of Fame for the 1954 Varsity Baseball Team. Then in 2013, he was inducted for the 1952 Varsity Baseball Team.
 After high school, Dick played professional Baseball for the Bakersfield Boosters (C League) and the Yakima Bears (B League).
 After his tour of duty, Dick returned to the field in 1959, at age 23, and played for the Yakima Braves (B League). He held a .268 BA.
 Dick changed sports professions and in 1970, Dick was ranked 277 in earnings in the PGA Golf Tour. His best finishes were the Canadian Open (53rd) and Western Open (58th).  
 Dick and Wanita moved to Hollister, CA in 1972 to become Golf Professional at Ridgemark G&CC.
 Dick built a great junior program that has inspired many of his students to follow in his footsteps today as PGA professionals.
 He continued to teach and enjoy the game while moving on to his final career.
 Dick became a Supervisor for the San Benito County Water District until retirement. He was extremely proud of his time with the county.
 Dick was an all around athlete who enjoyed camping, hiking, sailing, skiing and fishing. He learned to write, sing and play the guitar. He would play for all of his guests. One of his songs was recorded on “Rainbow Records”!
 Dick Rautmann was one of a kind. His students might say a “tough” taskmaster.
 Dick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wanita; sister, Inge (Joe) Zumwalt of California; son, Thomas Woodyard of Georgia; daughter, Brigette Blair of California; son, Fredrick (Bethany) Rautmann of California. Grandchildren include Paige Popik, Erica Byford, Thomas Woodyard, Jr., Taylor Blair, Tabitha Blair and Richard Rautmann as well as four great-grandchildren.
 He is preceded in death by his son, Jeff Woodyard.
