Shortly after the Hollister Police Department on Wednesday posted an alert about a hit-and-run accident in town, the suspect turned himself in, according to the HPD.
The first announcement, along with a picture of the suspected vehicle involved in a hit-and-run from Nov. 10, went out at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday on the police Nixle web page. Within hours of the alert, the suspect turned himself in, according to police.

Within hours of posting the press release the Hollister Police Department received information of the possible identity of the driver of the suspect vehicle.
As police were preparing to contact the suspect, he arrived at the police station to turn himself in.
