He lived most of his life in Hollister and had lived in Fresno and moved to Capitola only recently. For many years he worked for the New Idria Mines mining quicksilver. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his sisters, Rebecca Martinez of San Jose and Jennie Balderama of San Jose; his niece and two nephews, Sandra Guevara of San Jose, David Martinez of Tracy and Vincent Martinez of Hercules.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 1 at 1pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Rev. John Amelio of Glad Tidings Church will officiate.

Interment will follow the memorial services at the IOOF Cemetery where Mr. Balderama’s cremated remains will be interred with his father and mother, Andres and Belen Balderama.

Arrangements and cremations are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.
