BIKE ACCIDENT:

A 39-year-old Hollister woman driving a GMC Yukon hit an 11-year-old Hollister boy riding a bicycle at Valley View Road and Hilltop DRIVE? at 5:25pm on Wednesday

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:

Miguel Agraz, 34, of 1780 West Graf Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 11:54am on Tuesday for domestic violence, a felony, after he allegedly kicked a woman causing a bruise to her leg, police said.

CAR THEFT:

Israel Mendoza, 18, of 1580 Foxwood St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 7:21pm on Tuesday for vehicle theft, a felony, after he was pulled over at Nash Road and Monterey Street in a car stolen from the 2300 block of Bert Drive earlier that day, police said. Two 16-year-old Hollister males were in the car at the time and were arrested for violating their probation, police said.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:

Manuel Garcia, 24, who lives in the 2000 block of Valley View Road in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, being an unlicensed driver and being under the influence of a controlled substance, misdemeanors, after police stopped to check on his vehicle, which was parked on the side of the road with its hazard lights on at Airline Highway, south of Union Road, at 11pm on Monday, police said.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON:

Gilbert Canales, 28, of 810 B St. in Hollister, was arrested by San Benito County sheriff’s deputies for assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, after he tried to run two cars off the road on Highway 101 south of Highway 156 at 6:15pm on Monday, police said. Two occupants in one of the vehicles, which was forced off the road and collided with a dirt embankment, suffered pain to their neck and back but denied medical attention, police said. Police said Canales is schizophrenic and bi-polar and is on medication.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:

Gilbert Torres, 36, of 680 Santa Ana Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 11:02pm on Monday for domestic violence and child abuse, felonies, after he allegedly slapped a woman and a child on the face, police said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
