Regarding the article “Poverty Stricken Pound,” the Hollister Animal Shelter should really seriously change their hours. I adopted a dog from the pound and it took me two months before I could be off work early enough to get there before 5pm.
Now when people ask me where I got my dog and I tell them the pound, nine out of 10 people tell me they would love to go there but they are never open. It makes me sad the animals are not getting adopted because of the fact that our pound is not accessible to the public. So I really hope with the staffing changes it also brings better shelter hours.
