I hope all of you enjoyed Tracie Cone’s tantrum as much as I did. There is just something special about watching a child throw herself on the floor screaming her lungs out for attention. I was out of town studying Asian Economies for my MBA when Tracie threw her tantrum so unfortunately I couldn’t see it in person. To tell you the truth, I kind of feel sorry for her. After all, she did lose on Measure G and on trying to keep Bob Cruz in office, which I’m sure made her boss mad at her. I could use this entire column to set the record straight on the comments that Tracie and her puppet Council member Brian Conroy have said over the last few weeks, but we have bigger problems that need to be dealt with right away, such as new efforts to enact Measure G – Part II and attempts to steal the election by the Board of Supervisors. I’ll deal with Brian Conroy soon enough and as for Tracie’s accusations that I lied, well all I can say is that everything I write about is the truth … Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.

The rest of this column is too serious to be wasting time talking about Tracie, so I need all of you out there to pay close attention and take what I’m about to write very serious. There is an all-out effort by members of the Board of Supervisors to steal the election from Jaime De La Cruz so that they could implement Measure G – Part II in a way that can’t be reversed.

Let me first clarify that I was heavily involved in both the No on G campaign and the Jaime De La Cruz for District 5 Supervisor campaign. And perhaps I was the most outspoken person on both of these campaigns. Because of my stances, I’m currently receiving a great amount of flack from the losing parties, which doesn’t bother me in the least, except that it is being used as a diversion to take away focus from what is really happening.

The battle for District 5 Supervisor was hard fought by both Jaime De La Cruz and the current Supervisor Bob Cruz. Contrary to what is being portrayed in the Pinnacle, Jaime De La Cruz didn’t cheat nor could he have. The problem Jaime De La Cruz has is that he is in the way of a plan by several members of the Board of Supervisors to pass Measure G in pieces before they lose their control of the county.

By winning in District 5, Jaime De La Cruz has taken away the vote that the Supervisors need most to keep things covered up at the county. To make things worse for the Supervisors, Jaime wants to see a complete investigation of the practices of the Board of Supervisors over the past decade.

The Board of Supervisors has already held two closed meetings to figure out a way to pry control of the votes away from the elections department for their own “special recount.” Luckily, for the people of San Benito County, the elected official of the elections department, John Hodges, refuses to allow any monkey business from happening on his watch, even with repeated threats from members of the Board of Supervisors.

Why is the Board of Supervisors willing to steal the election at any cost? It’s very simple, three votes and Measure G – Part II passes and can’t be reversed. Vote No. 1 Pat Loe, Vote No. 2 Bob Cruz and Vote No. 3 will be determined by who folds fastest under pressure by the Pinnacle.

Several different sources have told me that Board members have vowed to implement a new version of Measure G that is drastically more severe and will be aimed at those who stood in the way of the original Measure G. If you think the current Board of Supervisors aren’t vindictive and will do what’s right for the community, just remember that these are the same individuals that claimed to not know anything about the original Measure G and then did everything they could to keep you and me from voting on it. These are the same people who claimed they were going to go door to door to get Jaime De La Cruz kicked off the water board when they thought he had lost the Supervisors race.

I’ve said all along that this Board of Supervisors is corrupt and will do whatever it takes to keep their power. The only way to stop them is to put them on notice and demand that everything they do be transparent. If we don’t act now, we’ll be facing Measure G – Part II and there will be no way to change the results.

I urge everyone to call the elections department and thank them for their conviction in protecting our voting rights. Then call the Board of Supervisors and let them know we’re watching them.
