Dear Editor:

This letter is from Union 4-H club in Hollister. We understand that there is a possibility that 4-H in San Benito County may be shut down. The 4-H program has been in this county since 1920, and our club has been in existence since 1926. 4-H gives us leadership skills, a better understanding of politics, responsibility, and it boosts our self confidence. It also provides scholarships for college. So far this year, we have learned how to write a budget, the value of hard work, how to speak in public, self worth, self patience and teamwork. We ask you on behalf of the 4-H community not to close down this program.

Sincerely,

Emily Tonascia, Janelle Janelo, Jacob Tonascia, Mathew Flores, Fiona Ryan, Tyler Dixon, Jaime Flores, Alyssa Russell, Dominique Flores
