Gilroy on June 9, 2004 at the age of 82.
Longtime San Benito County resident Katrina L. “Kitty” Beresini passed away at St. Louise Regional Medical Center in Gilroy on June 9, 2004 at the age of 82.
Katrina was a graduate of San Benito High School class of 1941and San Benito Jr. College class of 1943. She spent 47 years of her professional life with San Benito County Clerk & Recorders Office, retiring as Deputy Clerk & Auditor. She and her late husband Charles “Gene” Beresini were married in 1945 and spent 46 wonderful years together until he died in 1991. Kitty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollister and a former member of the Junior Business Women of San Benito County. She was actively involved in 4-H as well as a supporter of the local sports programs at the high school during her sons educational years. Upon her retirement from the County Clerk’s Office she became active with the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxiliary and with Women In Touch. Besides having her “Grandbabies” as the joy of her life, her biggest passion was traveling with her sister and friends on four special trips to Paris, Canada, Mexico, and the Scandinavian countries, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
Katrina was a native of Gainesboro, Tenn. and had lived in San Benito County for 71 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Beresini; sister Darlene DeLappe; and brother Ralph Lynn.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Beresini and his spouse Katie of Castro Valley; her grandchildren Cameron and Griffin Beresini of Castro Valley; her sisters Lucille Ross of Salinas, Eloise Beresini and her husband Don of Hollister; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday June 14 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hollister. Donations are preferred to the American Cancer Society c/o the mortuary chapel.
