The Gavilan College Art Department will present an exhibit called “Clay Clocks” through March 6.

The exhibit is an exercise in creativity by local artists, students and faculty that demonstrates the versatility of clay to be applied to design.

The challenge was to create new forms to house the clock, especially ones that challenged the traditional shape of clocks. “Clay Clocks” represents a wide range of possibility from traditional, to intriguing, to whimsical.

All clocks that are not marked with a red dot are available for sale. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the operation of the Gavilan College ceramics program. For more information, call the ceramics department at (408) 848-4833

The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays. It’s located in the campus library building at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. in Gilroy. Admission is free.
