Hollister will get its first taste of dinner theater Friday as the San Benito Stage Company performs the outlandish comedy “You Can’t Take It With You” at 7 p.m. upstairs at The Vault restaurant, Fifth and San Benito streets.

The Depression-era farce, produced by Shon and Michele Morrison and directed by Tricia Harvey, is a classic comic tale created by writers Moss Hart and George Kaufman in the 1930s. It follows the antics of one of the goofiest oddball families ever presented on stage.

The play, which runs through March 22, has already sold out shows for Saturday and nearly all the seats for the March 15 showing. Other performances include Friday, March 14, 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., with matinees March 16 and 23 at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner show are $30 for one person, or $50 for two. For tickets or more information, visit the stage company’s Web site at www.sanbenitostage.com.
