Parents can visit the Methodist Preschool in Hollister May 27-30 and register their children for its summer program, which runs from July 7 to Aug. 7.
Children can be registered for two mornings or two afternoons per week – Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays – for five weeks at a cost of $135, plus a $25 registration fee.
Openings are also available for the 2003-04 session, which runs from September through May. Registration is $65. Classes are offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for $160 per month or Tuesdays and Thursdays for $120 per month.
The preschool’s philosophy and purpose is to provide an atmosphere that encourages Christian values as well as social, spiritual, emotional and physical growth and development of the child as a whole. The staff strives to nurture these qualities.
Parents are not required to work at the preschool, which is not a co-operative. The staff consists of one head teacher and at least three aides per class. Director Judy Rider has been with the preschool for 31 years and all head teachers have been at the school at least 10 years.
