Navy Seaman Isabel C. Medrano recently completed exercise Tandem Thrust ’03 aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex, homebased at Fleet Activities, Sasebo, Japan.
Medrano, a 2000 graduate of San Benito High School, is the daughter of Elizabeth Chambers of Hollister. She joined the Navy in October 2001.
Medrano was one of more than 8,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines participating in one of the largest joint military exercises in the Western Pacific Marianas Island training area.
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Scott M. Brooks is currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Brooks, a 2001 graduate of San Benito High School, is the son of Anne M. and Robert M. Brooks of Hollister. He joined the Marine Corps in July 2001. He is one of more than 4,000 Pacific Fleet Sailors and Marines who deployed aboard the ships of the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group.
Navy Seaman Apprentice Joseph L. Bryan and Seaman Recruit Jeffrey R. Crawford recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Bryan, a 1998 graduate of San Benito High School, is the son of Linda and Greig E. Bryan of Paicines. Crawford is a 2002 graduate of SBHS.
