Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First Street, Gilroy, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Valley Symphony. Condolences can be made at www.HabingFamilyFuneralHome.com.
 Jewell “Julie” Pray, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away June 17, 2014. A gifted violinist and music teacher, Jewell shared her love of music throughout her life through teaching and playing in local musical productions. “Sound of Music” and ” Fiddler on the Roof” were the family favorites. She devoted her retirement years to the South Valley Symphony, playing into her eighties.
 Jewell was born on August 7, 1925 to B.F. “Frank” and Iris Smith, citrus growers in Azusa, CA.
 After graduation from San Jose State, she and her husband Jim (married June 28, 1947) moved to Gilroy, opened, owned and operated Jim’s Sport Shop. They supported local sports in the community for thirty years. Jewell’s Catholic faith was very important to her. She loved her family, friends, home and road trips to the beaches of Monterey Bay.
 Jewell is survived by her children Marta, Steve, and Teri and three grandchildren, Dareth, Ansley and Patric.
