My advice to you is to be a doer. If you know there is a need, then do something about it. You take up your chair and whatever you’re waving to Livermore where you know there are plans to close the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in that city. Why not move there, too, and make it your cause?
Guess what, this is a free country, provided by the death and sacrifice of many Americans. This is what allows us to do just what we do on the corner of Fourth and San Benito streets each Friday between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. As long as the people in black are across the street, we, the people symbolizing red, white and blue, will remain there. May God continue to bless America, keeping us strong and patriotic.”
“The county Board of Supervisors voted to instruct County Counsel to defend the County against a lawsuit by a citizen looking for access to public records. Isn’t the access to public records guaranteed by law, and if so, why are they spending money to defend the action?
Now a lawsuit has been filed by a group trying to disenfranchise 11,000 voters in this county. Four members of the Board, Richard Scagliotti, Pat Loe, Ruth Kesler and Bob Cruz voted not to use County Counsel to defend the action the Supervisors took to place Measure G on the ballot. Why don’t the four members of the Board stand on their principles and represent the wishes of their constituents?
One other subject to address: Why hasn’t the Tax Collector published the delinquent property tax rolls in a newspaper in the month of September 2003. Isn’t this required by law?”
