Visitation at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, Thursday August 7th, 2014, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (No rosary). Family and friends leave the mortuary Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass at the Old Mission San Juan beginning at 10:00 A.M. Followed by Military Honors by Hollister Post No. 9242 V.F.W.  Lifelong Hollister resident Gilbert Cosio Sr. passed away August 2nd, 2014, at the age of 80 years.
 Gilbert was a native of Arizona but spent his entire life in San Benito County. A graduate of San Benito High School and a Veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. A member of the Old Mission San Juan Bautista parish. 
 His interests were “sports, sports, sports” having coached San Benito County Little League for a period of years, and was an avid 49ers, S.F. Giants and Warrior’s fan said his family.
 A home builder by occupation, he loved his garden and the long walks he had with his spouse Ida Cosio every day. Ida and Gilbert celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last February 21st.
 Surviving is his wife, their sons; Gilbert Jr. (Susan) of Davis, David of San Jose, Jerry and Gary of Hollister; grandchildren Alicia Shea (Eric) of Maryland, Nathan of Eugene, OR, Josh of Davis, Diane Jacques of Brooklyn, NY and Stephanie Barrientos of Hollister; great-grandson Aiden Armenta of Hollister; sisters Helen Andrade (Joe) of Hollister, Molly Clemente (Raul) of Folsom, Bob Cosio (Jolene)of San Juan Bautista, Javier Cosio (Roslyn) of Milpitas, and Joseph Cosio of Hollister; many nieces and nephews.
