San Benito's Chris Cook competes in the high jump Saturday during the Garlic City Invitational at Gilroy High School.

The San Benito High track and field teams continued their strong seasons Wednesday with a pair of easy victories over Alisal in Hollister.

The boys team rolled, winning 14 of the 16 events. Four Balers won multiple events for San Benito in the victory. The Balers’ Christopher Cook took first in the long jump (19-10) and the high jump (6-02). Christopher Len finished first in the 100 meters (11.80) and the 200 meters (24.50). R.J. Collins continued his strong running in the long distance races, taking first in the 800 meters (2:09.45) and the 1600 meters (4:38.57). In the throwing contests, Erik Rivera placed first in the shot put (43-06.5) and the discus (134-00).

The girls team also win 14 of the 16 events to earn the victory over the Trojans. Savanna Wilson earned three victories on the day. The San Benito senior ran the 100 meters in 13.58 seconds for first place. She also took the top time in the 200 meters (29.08) and the longest distance in the long lump (16-02). Maura Forbush finished first in the 400 meters (1:02.81) and the 300 meter hurdles (50.19).

Breanna Lowther took first in the shot put (34-02) and the discus (111-09).

The Balers will compete at the Santa Cruz Invitational on Saturday. Their final home meet will take place April 24 against Salinas.
