The Super Bowl is returning to the Bay Area.
The NFL announced Tuesday that football’s biggest event will be held in the 49ers’ brand new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in 2016. The Super Bowl was last played in San Francisco in 1985.Â
San Francisco edged South Florida to host Super Bowl L – the 50th championship game. It was also announced that Houston was selected to host Super Bowl LI in 2017.
