Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013, 10:00 A.M., at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Donations can be made in Jim’s name to the Charity of your choice.
On Saturday, August 10, 2013 James (Jim) Alan Carreiro passed away at Hazel Hawkins Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born in Hollister on October 6, 1954, and was raised on his father’s Dairy. Jim learned early how to milk cows and work on a ranch. He attended San Benito High School, but preferred fast cars to schooling in his early years.
Jim married young and raised three handsome sons. He later partnered with his father and became a successful dairymen and farmer and also showed Registered Holsteins.
After selling the Dairy, he raised beef cows up until his death. He enjoyed roping, riding, working cattle and he loved his cows and registered herd of Boer Goats.
Jim was a true cattleman and enjoyed the cowboy life, and passed on his love of the outdoors to his sons. Jim loved his family and loved to barbecue and entertain friends and family at his ranch.
He is survived by his wife Julie Carreiro, his father William (Bill) Carreiro (Isabelle), his sons James (Jim) Carreiro Jr, Mark Carreiro (Lindsay ) and grandson Mason along with many other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his son Antone (Tony) Carreiro, mother Patricia Maggini Mooney, and brother Randall (Randy) Carreiro.
