The famouse carmel apples at DeBrito's Chocolate Factory wait to be finished off before sale.

The ABC television show “The Chew” is coming for a taste of Hollister and Gilroy.
The daytime talk show about cooking – inspired by the ABC show “The View” – is scheduled to film in Hollister at the DeBrito Chocolate Factory on Saturday morning for a segment set to air in September, said Cathy Larson, daughter of Alene DeBrito, the chocolate factory’s owner and founder.
“They’re just covering the caramelized apples,” said Larson, referring to the show’s visit to the Hollister chocolate factory at 160 Briggs Road.
The local chocolate factory features more than 50 flavors of caramel apples and more than 60 types of chocolate. The national exposure is nothing new for DeBrito, which was featured on The Food Network show “Kid in a Candy Store” in 2011.
Larson mentioned that “The Chew” crew also planned to do some filming at the Gilroy Garlic Festival taking place Friday through Sunday at Christmas Hill Park. In May, DeBrito opened a store in the Gilroy Premium Outlets as well.
