COMMUNITY PANTRY

Community Pantry is in need of brown and plastic bags for food distribution on Wednesdays. Bags may be dropped off at the Community Pantry office, 30 Airport Drive at the Hollister Airport, or pick-up can be arranged by calling 637-0340.

MS GROUP

The Silicon Valley chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has formed a group in Hollister. The group will meet on the last Monday of each month from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Gil Gallery at Hazel Hawkins Hospital, 911 Sunset Drive.

WAR PROTEST

Hollister In Black invites men and women to join a silent war protest Friday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the corner of San Benito and Fourth streets. The group invites men and women to wear black clothing for the vigil against war every Friday at the same time and place.

Hollister In Black is an offshoot of Women In Black, which began in 1988 to protest Israel’s occupation of the West Bank. For more information, call 636-5321.

LIBRARY KIDS CLUB

An after-school club for children ages 6-12 will be held Wednesdays through May 28, 2003 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the San Benito County Free Library, 470 Fifth St.

Activities will include homework assistance, arts and crafts projects, educational videos, presentations and special holiday events. The program is sponsored by the Hollister Youth Alliance. For more information, call librarian Jo Wahdan at 636-4107.

DOG WALKERS WANTED

ADULT LITERACY TUTORS SOUGHT

The Adult Literacy Program of San Benito County needs volunteers for a series of training sessions to learn about illiteracy and ways to help functionally illiterate adults improve their English speaking, reading, writing and mathematics skills. Tutors will be assigned to an adult learner upon completion of training.
