The sun sets behind the steeple of St. Benedict's Church on Fairview Road in Hollister.

The Aria Women’s Choir will perform three fall concerts, including one in Hollister on Nov. 9, at 8 p.m., at St. Benedict’s Church, 1200 Fairview Road, in Hollister. The first concert of the season will be “Regina Coeli” or “Queen of Heaven.”

Tickets are $20 for general admission to the Hollister concert or $15 for students.

The choir will perform diverse works of a sacred nature including the Randall Thompson, “Alleluia,” and the Franz Schubert “Psalm 23.” The highlight of the concert will be the newly found voicings of the Vivaldi Gloria and Kyrie by the composer himself, discovered a couple of years ago. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

In January 2012, Sean Boulware founded Aria, the new women’s choir in Monterey which has gone on to critical success and is starting its second season of concerts. Aria is a new choir under the care of the Monterey Peninsula Choral Society. The choirs include members from San Benito County, and about half the members of the Aria Choir traveled as part of the Monterey Peninsula Choral Society this summer to perform at the summer Olympics in London.
