share of the Tri-County Athletic League title Saturday when it was
upset by Gilroy 3-1.
The Hollister High baseball team stubbed its toe on the way to a share of the Tri-County Athletic League title Saturday when it was upset by Gilroy 3-1.

The Balers (19-7, 10-4) fell out of a first-place tie with Live Oak (17-9, 11-3), which blasted North Salinas 12-1 on Saturday.

With only one game left in the regular season, Hollister is at Palma (10-15, 6-8) Tuesday, while the Acorns are at Gilroy (9-16, 6-8).

In the loss at Gilroy, Eric Diaz Jr. had two doubles and knocked in the only Balers run, which came in the first inning. Nick Ramos added two hits for the Balers. Nathan Rowe absorbed the defeat.

Junior varsity:The Baler JVs 10-runned Gilroy 14-4 in five innings Saturday.

Gabe Gaitan was 3-4 with a double; Seth Hudson went 3-3 with 2 RBI; Karson Klauer was 2-3, as was Kyle Sharp, who had a double and a triple; Brent Ichien had a double and 2 RBI, while Zach Bainter added a double. Scott Mead was 2-2.

Brian Rossi ran his record to 7-0 as he pitched the final 3.1 innings to get credit for the win.
