The Haybalers girls volleyball team’s season finally came to an
end on Saturday in the quarterfinal match of the California
Interscholastic Federation’s Division 1 playoffs. San Benito fell
in four games to the No. 2 seeded Liberty of Brentwood, 25-18,
25-15, 15-25, 25-19.
Brentwood – The Haybalers girls volleyball team’s season finally came to an end on Saturday in the quarterfinal match of the California Interscholastic Federation’s Division 1 playoffs. San Benito fell in four games to the No. 2 seeded Liberty of Brentwood, 25-18, 25-15, 15-25, 25-19.

With an overall record of 36-6 and a Tri County Athletic League record of 12-0, the Haybalers found success around every corner under first-year coach Dean Askanas, making it to the CCS final and the CIF quarterfinal.

Bri Romero led San Benito in Saturday’s quarterfinal loss with 14 kills, 19 digs and two aces. Teammate Emily Kortsen added 12 kills, five digs and two assists and Chelsea Fowles contributed 32 assists, eight digs, four kills and three aces.

Senior Jamie Temperino made the most of her last match as a ‘Baler, posting 16 digs, eight kills, three blocks and two aces.
