San Benito sweeps Palma 25-9, 25-20, 25-15 Tuesday, sit at
perfect 13-0 in TCAL

Just one more match stands between the San Benito High boys volleyball team and an undefeated season in the Tri-County Athletic League after it swept (25-9, 25-20, 25-15) visiting Palma Tuesday night at Matson Gym in Hollister.

The Haybalers, which have already wrapped up the TCAL title, are now 13-0 in league, 22-7 overall. San Benito will complete its regular season tonight, Thursday, at home to Watsonville.

Tuesday’s match saw yet another San Benito sweep, though. Of its 13 league victories this season, the ‘Balers have won 12 of them by 3-0 margins. Only Monterey was able to steal two set wins from San Benito, but lost in the end, 3-2.

Adrian Rodriguez recorded 34 assists in the win over Palma, while Roy Powell had 11 kills. Erik Rodriguez added 10 kills for the ‘Balers.

Defensive specialist Danny Ruiz picked up 20 digs, and also provided 15 service points from behind the line, three of which were aces.

San Benito will celebrate Senior Night tonight when it hosts Watsonville at 6:30 p.m.
