The 11-12 National All-Stars were sent down to the elimination bracket Thursday, falling to Hartnell 2-0 in Gonzales. Starter Ryan Jameson threw well for Hollister, throwing a complete game. Hartnell, though, scored two runs in the first inning on a 2-run home run. Afterward, Jameson controlled the game. At the plate, Hollister struggled to get on base. The All-Star team finished with four hits – two by Mason Marquez, one by Isaiah Bueno and Mason Marquez.

The 9-and-under National team started its invitational tournament Thursday with a 21-7 win over Continental at Doglione Memorial Field in Salinas.

On the mound, Jared Esparza started and allowed four hits.

The team moves to the quarterfinals on Sunday at Doglione Memorial Field.
