Marsmaker wins honors
HOLLISTER-Brian Marsmaker of Maddux Jewelry was recently honored
for creativity and uniqueness of design at the Independent Jewelers
Organization (IJO) spring meeting which earned him an honorable
mention from a vote of his peers.
The Master IJO Jewelers are a group of retailers selected for
high ethical standards and integrity.
Marsmaker is studying for his gemology certificate from the
Gemological Institute of America, the world’s largest non-profit
gemological organization.
Marsmaker grew up in Hollister and attended San Benito High
School. He worked in Asia as a corporate trainer, and the
experience influences his jewelry design.
Maddux Jewelry is located on San Benito Street, a
third-generation family-owned business since 1944.

Forensic career guide by local authors

HOLLISTER – Two Hollister residents have co-authored a book on careers in Forensic Sciences. “Career Opportunities in Forensic Science” has been released by Ferguson Publishing Company.

Susan Echaore-McDavid and Richard McDavid cover the topic of forensic-related careers such as crime scene investigation, criminalistics, health and medicine, natural sciences, behavioral sciences and others.
