Real estate professionals named distressed property experts
Lori Uhl McClelland, a broker and owner, and Tammy Davis, an agent for Realty World Providence Properties in Hollister, have earned the prestigious certified distressed property expert (CDPE) designation, having completed extensive training in foreclosure avoidance and short sales, according to a press release from the business.
Short sales allow a cash-strapped seller to repay the mortgage at the price for which the home sells, even though it is lower than what is owed on the property. With plummeting property values, this can save many people from foreclosure and even bankruptcy.
San Benito County has been hit particularly hard by the foreclosure trend, consistently ranking as having one of the worst per-capita rates in the state.
“This CDPE designation has been invaluable as we work with sellers and lenders on complicated short sales,” McClelland said in the statement.
Added Davis: “It is so rewarding to be able to help sellers save their homes from foreclosure.”
